World Agrochemicals Network Chinese: BASF recently announced the launch of the fungicide Zampro (300g/L azoxystrobin + 225g/L allylmorph SC) in Brazil at the 27th Hortitec, Latin America’s largest trade show for the horticulture, protected planting and intensive crop sectors.
According to BASF, Zampro is a new fungicide for the control and management of diseases such as late blight and mildew in different crops, with a focus on tomato, grape and potato crops.
The product is a touch-activated systemic fungicide for controlling foliar diseases of crops. The product has a dual mode of action, with the active ingredient azoxystrobin effectively inhibiting electron transfer in fungal mitochondria and enoylmorpholine inhibiting fungal cell wall formation, resulting in control of fungi at all stages of development.
BASF describes the fungicide as ″effective in preventing all stages of the fungus, making it more practical and flexible for use throughout the crop cycle, keeping the plantation healthy and allowing it to reach its greater production potential″.
Rodrigo Pifano, BASF’s market manager for Hortifruti in Brazil, commented: ″BASF is constantly providing innovations for phytosanitary control of fruits and vegetables to help farmers’ production. Globally, we invest nearly 900 million euros a year in research and development of new agricultural technologies to provide our customers with a complete portfolio of solutions. ″
