Melting point 10℃, boiling point 246℃ (0.101MPa), specific gravity (20℃) 1.116, refractive index = 1.4380. miscible with water, low alcohol, easily soluble in general organic solvents. n-acetylmorpholine is chemically stable under normal conditions, thermal decomposition temperature is greater than 230℃. Under the action of heat and strong acid, acid decomposition reaction can occur to produce morpholine salt and acetic acid.

[N-Acetylmorpholine is a very important pesticide intermediate, is one of the main raw materials for the synthesis of agricultural fungicides enoylmorpholine and fluoromorpholine. n-Acetylmorpholine and N-formylmorpholine mixture is an excellent natural gas and syngas acid gas removal agent, used in the new Morphysorb process developed abroad in recent years. The extraction of low quality natural gas or syngas requires the removal of trace components such as CO2 and H2S, and the use of physical solvents is particularly beneficial for gases with high CO2 and H2S content.
